One of the things we look for in the selection of our images is the relation between the figures…body language, touch, echoing of forms and gestures. What I most love about this image is how the characters are each firmly in their own space but still holding on to each other…the girl with her hands and the mama with her gaze. What a great thing to aspire to in relationship: independence plus loving connection.

Ah, a boy and his dog. What could be more loving?Aside from the obvious sweet connection in this image, I was interested in exploring the atypical composition of the featured figures dropping out of the bottom of the frame, plus the dramatic, eccentrically colored foliage that dominates the top half. Dreamy.
